What is there to do at the Mid-South Book Festival?
We have lots going on between September 7-11!
We’re kicking off the week on Wednesday, September 7th with our Literacy Summit, a conference for nonprofit employees, parents, grandparents, and teachers.
On Friday, September 9th, we’ll host the Well Read Reception to kick off the weekend.
On Saturday, we will host our Street Fair featuring 25 free panel discussions featuring 60 local and national authors, book signings, food trucks, vendors, a children’s area, and live readings by authors.
On Sunday, September 11th, we will host our Mid-South Book Festival Writers Conference as well as our Student Writers Conference.

How much does the Mid-South Book Festival cost?
All of our events on Saturday, including the street fair and the panel discussions, are free and open to the public!
The cost of the Student Writers Conference is $10–a sweet deal!

Tell me more about the panel discussions
These panel discussions will cover many topics, from murder and kidnapping to alternative literary spaces. There is something for everyone! Come early and grab a seat because of these panel discussions will be standing room only!

I want an author to sign my book. What should I do?
Each author will have a book signing immediately following their panel discussion. They’ll be happy to sign your book!

Should I bring my own book or can I purchase a book at the event?
Booksellers and Book Stores will be on hand to sell books for most of the authors at the event. Some authors will be selling their own books.

Can I bring my children?
Yes, we have a fun kids area that will feature the Cat in the Hat, Curious George, the Good Neigh Bear, and Lewis the Duck! We’ll also have story time throughout the day featuring authors.
