Volunteer Info

Literacy Mid-South will need almost 100 volunteers for this massive event in 2015.  We have the following volunteer shifts available:

Room Leader – Each Room Leader is assigned to an author presentation room.  The Room Leaders maintain crowd control, help keep time for moderators and presenters, keep the authors hydrated, manage scripts for sponsors and moderators, and change out signage.

Floaters – Floaters run errands for authors at the festival, help walk authors to their presentation rooms, and help with crowd control as necessary.

Author Liaisons – Author Liaisons serve as our “welcoming committee” at the front door and ensure a comfortable, pleasant experience for our participating authors and guests.

Greeters – Greeters help festival goers find presentation rooms, hand out maps, and keep count of attendees.

Children’s Area Volunteers – Children’s Area Volunteers will help children with special writing and reading activities throughout the day.

Writing Assistant – Writing Assistants help our creative writing seminar leaders.

Early Bird Volunteers – Early Bird Volunteers will be treated to coffee and donuts before setting up the entire festival in just under two hours.  Though this shift is early, it is a great way to be involved but still enjoy the festival afterwards!

Late Date Volunteers – Volunteers are needed to help break down the festival and load up vendor’s wares.

REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER BEGINNING ON JULY 15TH!
